Research Interests: Academic Integrity, Mental health issues in the justice system

John Baley is a law student and psychologist in private practice in the Chapel Hill area.  Mr. Baley is a former visiting instructor at Western Carolina University.  Mental health issues within the justice system are his primary research focus.  Following his experience as an educator at WCU, Mr. Baley developed an interest in academic integrity in the modern online classroom.  Over the past year his attention has been focused in that area.  Mr. Baley hopes that the intersection of his experiences as an educator, clinician and law student will allow him to contribute meaningfully to our understanding of how academic integrity can be maintained in the contemporary classroom.  He has authored 3 publications in peer-reviewed academic journals and conducted over a dozen presentations at professional conferences.  Mr. Baley collaborated with Dr. Malesky on the research project featured in the Chronicle of Higher Education.
